I stayed in a monthly rental while my house was being renovated. It was so much better than a hotel! Having a full kitchen and a separate living room made the month feel normal. The discount for staying 28+ days was actually really good.

It’s great for 'digital nomads,' but those cleaning fees are getting out of control. Even when you stay for a month, some hosts want a $300 cleaning fee on top of the rent. You really have to do the math to see if it’s worth it.

Dealing with an individual host for a month can be tricky. My AC went out and it took the host four days to get it fixed. In a professional apartment building, that would have been handled in hours. It’s a bit of a gamble.
